Ducey tells Board of Regents cuts may be permanent, higher ed needs new plan

After signing a budget carrying $99 million in cuts to state funding for public universities, Gov. Doug Ducey attended an Arizona Board of Regents meeting on Thursday. He says he wants to work with university presidents on a new plan for higher education, and he’s holding out the possibility that cuts for the upcoming fiscal year will be permanent.
