Republican majority in Senate could mean a move up for McCain, Flake

WASHINGTON – Arizona’s senators may not be up for re-election this year, but the outcome can still affect their jobs on Capitol Hill. Sen. John McCain is in line to become chair of the Armed Services Committee but can only be selected if his party becomes the majority in the Senate. One political scientist also forsees an opportunity for Sen. Jeff Flake to move into a leadership position if the GOP takes control of the Senate.
