Gilbert boutique drives sales through social media, website

GILBERT – Other retailers may be worrying about extended hours and a crush of crowds on Black Friday, but one Gilbert boutique is taking a different approach to the make-or-break shopping day. Junky Trunk Boutique has focused on social media sites like Facebook and Instagram since its founding, and now does 60 to 65 percent of its business online through its huge social media following. For co-owner Hayley Netko, Black Friday concerns center on whether the free shipping offer will pan out and not when the doors will open.
