PHOENIX – Cronkite News projects that U.S. Rep. Trent Franks, R-Glendale, will win his re-election bid for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. covering much of the West Valley.
Early returns show Franks, who had no major party competition, had an insurmountable lead over a minor party candidate.
Franks has served in Congress since 2003. He currently serves on the Armed Services Committee and the Judiciary Committee.
Franks describes himself as a “conservative Reagan Republican” and “has spent most of his life working on children’s issues and trying to build a better future for all children,” according to his website.
Before serving in Congress, Franks was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives.
