Being green by losing some green: Golf course trims overseeding to save water

PHOENIX – Winter in Arizona means snowbirds, golf and overseeding of lawns and fairways, along with the demand for more water to keep them green. With more than half of the state facing moderate drought conditions or worse, one gold course is looking to lessen its impact on the environment by cutting the amount it overseeds to the smallest possible area while keeping the course playable, an example it hopes other area courses will follow.
