Bug carrying disease that threatens state’s citrus industry has expanded range

PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Agriculture has expanded its quarantine of citrus products from western parts of the state to include a small part of Maricopa County near Gila Bend, after discovering the Asian citrus psyllid had spread there. The insect carries citrus greening disease, which is fatal to citrus trees.
