WASHINGTON – The “Nourishing Place For Women” near Micah Mountain and the Sri Ram Ashram near Benson are two of the hundreds of sites nationwide that the National Park Service is looking at for their value as LGBT history sites. Park service officials said the search for sites important to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history is a natural expansion of other historic theme studies, for women, Latinos and Asian/Pacific Islanders, and the recognition of civil rights locations. The LGBT study, which began earlier this year, is still looking for input on potential sites.
