In Yuma, Border Patrol’s boots on the ground could be boots in the boat

YUMA – In Yuma County, the Border Patrol’s “boots on the ground” could just as easily be boots in the boat, with a highly trained unit patrolling the Colorado River for immigrants and smugglers. With the river dividing Yuma from California and Mexico, it can be a hot spot for illegal activity. But the Border Patrol agents are also on the lookout for recreational boaters who may get into trouble while enjoying the river.
