WASHINGTON – Before she succumbed to brain cancer last year, former Anthem High School student Katie Wagner was able to realize her dream of opening a school in Liberia. But that country has since been hit hard by the outbreak of Ebola and Wagner’s dream of a school is threatened. Even though no students have been infected, the Katie Wagner-Calvary Revival School was forced in August to close, and will likely remain closed for at least two more months. But two friends who helped get the school off the ground are now working to keep it going, and keep a promise to Wagner in the process, by working with the community on food and health issues and looking to get the school open again.
