Birds like the condor and bald eagle are on the endangered species list, but there are precautions that need to be made to keep them from going extinct. Terry Stevens, operations director at Liberty Wildlife Bird Preservation, says the most common type of injury to these birds is lead poisoning because a bird will ingest anything a hunter leaves behind, including bullet fragments in dead animals. If you see an injured bird, Stevens suggests keeping your distance and call his organization.
