PHOENIX – Some voters say they are offended by slightly off-color gubernatorial campaign signs that have begun popping up around Phoenix as the election draws near. But the signs may be more than offensive – they may be illegal, since they do not identify the person or campaign that put them up. Phoenix officials who were notified about the signs said they “do what they can” to keep on top of illegal campaign signs, but that this is the season for such problems – and such signs – to crop up.
