Loud sounds and crowds are some things that can overwhelm veterans struggling with PTSD. Spartan Academy in Mesa, run by a gold medalist in mixed martial arts, offers self-defense classes with similar military fighting techniques as a kind of therapy to help veterans cope with PTSD.
