Greens hope to break hold of traditional Mexican parties as election looms

With Mexico’s July 1 elections looming, Green Party legislative candidate Juan Carlos Elizalde campaigns in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, as the Greens hope to make a dent in the hold of traditional political powerhouses, the PRI and PAN parties. The Greens are running for offices around the country, hoping their platform of change will set them apart from competitors. Cronkite News reporter Jack Highberger followed Elizalde for this first of three reports on the upcoming elections.
