Advocates step in to combat child hunger in Arizona
One in four children in Arizona is at risk of going to bed hungry each night without adequate access to food, according to the nonprofit advocacy organization Feeding America. In central Phoenix elementary school districts, a majority of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. With these statistics putting Arizona on the map, nonprofit leaders and community members come together to find solutions and implement programs in city schools and after-school programs.
