Drug violence, harsh terrain leave trail of dead on border

For those who cross it, the border is a deadly obstacle course. Violence stalks immigrants and others who come into contact with cartels. And when immigrants disappear, families, law enforcement and medical examiners band together in a macabre effort to match bodies with missing persons.

This report by Arizona State University’s News21 incubator looks at the danger immigrants face and the challenge of identifying those who don’t survive.
